Day 6. Beach Start

The beach start was a no spectator zone but luckily we got in last night behind a TV truck. Around 4 am a van with ten cops arrived and parked right next to us, Brandon slept in the car and I was not far away on the beach. Their loud voices  and laughter woke me up and Brandon woke up Dyer they shone their torch in his face.
The bikes arrived first and was able to mingle and get some gret pictures as there was nobody around except for a few press guys and nobody hassled us.

Watched all the vehicles take off and then we went for a refreshing swim to clean up. Then we had to drive north back to Arequipa which was around 500 mm and slow going on the Pan America with all the passes and huge trucks. Stopped in a few spots to watch the cars and met our Dutchman friends again at a checkpoint. Arrived in Arequipa at 10 PM and then walked into town for a meal.
